It is a representation on how I interact with other personalities, behave on a day-to-day basis, how I learn, how I communicate, and it can accurately predict the field of career I will most likely settle with. Background The purpose of the MBTI or Myers-Briggs Type Indicator is to indicate the preferences on how different people absorb and exert information as well as communicate and make decisions. The MBTI was created by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter Isabel Briggs Myer in 1943 during World War II in the effort to help women entering the work force to find a job that best-fit their individual personality types to increase productivity (OPP) .
